■ Overview
Dahua trademarks are our intellectual property and are among our most valuable assets. In order to preserve and protect these trademarks, it is essential that they are used properly. In following these Guidelines, you, as our business partner, help us to protect our valuable trademark rights and strengthen our corporate and brand identities.

■ General Rules
There are some basic rules that apply to any use of any trade or service mark that you do not own, including any trademarks of Dahua, without the express permission of the owner.
1. Do Not Use Dahua Trademarks as Nouns
Every Dahua trademark should be followed by an appropriate noun consisting of the Dahua product or service that is branded with the mark. Dahua Trademarks are adjectives and may not be used as nouns, or alone as a shorthand way of identifying a product or service. The Dahua trademark should be used as an adjective describing a product or service of Dahua. For example,
Improper use: “We use Dahua to provide security and loss prevention for retail shops;”
Proper use: “We use Dahua solutions to provide security and loss prevention for retail shops.”
More examples of proper use are as follows: “Dahua product;” “Dahua WIFI cameras;” “Dahua network camera recorders.”
The only exception to this requirement is when the “Dahua” name is used as our company name as opposed to an identifier of one of our products or services. The “Dahua” name is not only a trademark used to identify our products and services, it also serves as our company name. When referring to Dahua as the company rather than the Dahua brand, do not add the trademark symbol TM or ® in statements, such as “Dahua announced today,” “Dahua provides solutions to customers,” and “the Dahua development team.” would be an appropriate use.
2. No Possessives, Plurals, Verbs or Puns
We work hard to build customer goodwill, and we use our trademarks to harness that goodwill. Please use the marks as they are designed and intended. Since a trademark is not a noun, it must never be used in possessive or plural forms, and should never be used as a verb or a pun. For example:
Improper use: We are increasing Dahua’s R&D budget.
Proper use: We are increasing the R&D budget for Dahua products.
Improper use: Our customers enjoy DAHUAs.
Proper use: Our customers enjoy DAHUA products and services.
3. Make Dahua Trademarks Stand Out
Trademarks should be separate from surrounding text to emphasize the brand name significance. Options include:
▪ Capitalizing the first letter of the trademark.
▪ Presenting the trademark in its logo form.
4. Do Not Alter Dahua Trademarks
Trademarks should be used consistently and should not be altered. For example, please do not:
▪ Abbreviate the trademarks.
▪ Change the colors or typeface of the trademarks.
▪ Add words or design elements to the trademarks.
▪ Hyphenate the marks unless the trademark itself is hyphenated.
If you are a distributor, dealer, reseller of Dahua products, you may not alter or modify the Dahua corporate logo or Dahua trademarks that are affixed to or appear on the Dahua products you distribute or resell. Similarly, re-logoing (replacing a Dahua trademark with your logo or mark) and co-logoing (adding your logo or mark to the Dahua product) are not permitted in the absence of a written agreement with Dahua.
