March 25, 2024 / Hangzhou, China. Dahua Technology, a world-leading video-centric AIoT solution and service provider, is proud to announce the latest upgrades of its PTZ WizSense Series. The AII-NEW PTZ, short for ‘AI In Enhanced WizSense PTZ’, provides multiple intelligent functions, significant hardware updates, and eco-friendly packaging optimization.

Multiple Intelligent Functions

Aside from its existing intelligent functions such as Perimeter Protection, Smart Motion Detection (SMD) and Auto Tracking, a new batch of AI-enabled functions were added to the WizSense artillery:

• Auto Patrol: This AI function enables the PTZ camera to automatically perform the key preset point patrol in order to check for abnormalities when the IVS rules for human and vehicle targets are triggered, greatly reducing the workload of security personnel. It offers up to 5 preset points, with each point automatically switching to the next to ensure optimal monitoring. In addition, the Alarm Linkage function enables SMD to be enabled when focusing on preset points, activating alarms when moving targets are detected. This is ideal for outdoor open scenarios as it can cover a larger scope of areas with just one device, saving time and labor costs.




• AcuPick: It serves as a real video search engine that can quickly locate human and vehicle targets of interest by utilizing both front-end and back-end intelligence. It has one button on both the preview and playback interfaces that can be used to find relevant video recordings during or after an event. It can be used to find a lost individual, locate a specific vehicle, or gather evidence for a property damage incident.




• Construction Detection: It utilizes AI technology to ensure safe operation and work progress on the site. Lone Working Detection detects if only one person is working on a task that requires multiple people to complete. PPE Detection supports real-time detection of proper wearing of personal protective equipment at the workplace, such as hats (including safety helmets), masks, reflective vests, gloves, boots, and overalls. Off-duty Detection detects if there is no one on the scene for a sustained period of time.




• People Counting: It can track and process moving human targets to realize accurate statistics of people entering, leaving and currently within the monitored area. This feature provides customers with valuable data for business report analysis.

Hardware Upgrades

The Dahua WizSense Series has also upgraded its hardware offerings in order to better accommodate the diverse needs of customers and to increase the range of its applications scenarios. It includes:

• Expanded View: Dahua’s X-Spans Series enlarges the camera view by expanding one or more lenses based on the traditional PTZ camera, providing panoramic images and details in one camera. It offers global monitoring capability and two intelligent modes: Linkage Mode (detail and panorama cameras work together) and Independent Mode (detail and panorama cameras run AI functions separately). It is ideal for large-scale scenarios such as stadium, plaza, industrial park, small warehouse, street, and orchard. Other related cameras with expanded view capacity include SDT4E Series and the soon to be released SDT3E Series and SDT2A Series.




• Enhanced Vision: Dahua created the SD3E Series with 10x optical zoom to extend the zooming capabilities of typical 3-inch PTZ cameras. The benefits of increasing the optical zoom ratio include better detail capturing, more enhanced shooting flexibility and stability, more convenient long-distance shooting capability, and higher image quality performance.




• Extended Illumination: Dahua released the SD29 Series (illumination distance increased from 30 to 50m) and SD1A Series (illumination distance increased from 15m to 20m) equipped with more powerful IR illuminators, strengthening small PTZ cameras’ performance under low-light illumination and enabling them to capture more details during the night.




• Enhanced Durability: The latest WizSense products carry a new set of cables that can withstand 4 to 5 times the number of PTZ rotations as the old one. Replacing the old models of SD3A series, the newly released SD3E and SD3C series are equipped with stronger cables for extra durability.

Packaging Optimization

All WizSense products now come with a Kraft Protective Box that offers extra protection, excellent hygroscopicity, anti-theft performance, and international standards compliance. Kraft paper boxes are made from natural materials (e.g. natural wood fibers) and are manufactured using a unique process that is more durable than standard cardboard boxes. What’s more, minimizing the dimensions of the outer packaging brings several advantages. It optimizes storage space, aligns with sustainable development goals, reduces transportation costs, and decreases labor-intensive handling expenses. The SD49 Series offers a 36% reduction in volume, while the SD3E Series reduces volume by 21%.
